Please join us on Thursday April 15th from 12pm to 1pm for our latest CWS Brownbag event. Dr. Paul Prior, Dr. Julie Hengst, Dr. Larissa Mazuchelli, and CWS PhD candidates Bruce Kovanen, Nicole Turnipseed, and Ryan Ware will describe their collaborative process in the composition of a manuscript on becoming and perezhivanie, a concept drawn primarily from Russian psychologist Lev Vygotsky, which posits experience as distributed across, not only in, people and their historical-material environments. In the presentation, they will trace the history of their collaborative activities from early experiences in the cultural-historical activity theory reading group around studies of becoming and affect to current experiences of working through ideas across disciplines and borders.
