Sound is primary In Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme's exhibition And Yet My Mask Is Powerful at Krannert Art Museum (January 25– July 14, 2018). The artists compose a work’s soundtrack before any visual elements, drawing from their backgrounds in performance and underground music. Join the artists and Maryam Kashani, Assistant Professor of Gender and Women’s Studies and Asian American Studies, along with faculty across departments and programs, for a listening party and conversation.


Presented in collaboration with Asian American Studies and the Center for South Asian & Middle Eastern Studies. Sponsored by the Frances P. Rohlen Visiting Artist Fund/College of Fine + Applied Arts, School of Art + Design Visitors Committee, and Krannert Art Museum.
