Matthew Steinke

“Scoring Sculpture: Automata, Pianorolls, Electronic Music, Digital Timelines, and Robotics”

Matt is an astounding kinetic sculptor, performing musician, animator, programmer, and media artist who has traveled as a performer and exhibited as an artist throughout and beyond the U.S. for many years. He began his career as a touring independent-label rock musician in the 1990s, and has since created a vast array of electro-acoustic instruments and installations that have incorporated a wide variety of found materials, including toys, cutlery, ants, and plants.
