Whether you plan on having your students write essays or take a multiple-choice exam, the way you pose your test question can make a difference in their performance. This workshop will provide guidance on developing a test blueprint and tips on writing essay prompts and test questions. Participants will get hands-on experience editing and writing exam questions. Feel free to bring for review and discussion some test questions that you have written or seen.
NOTE: This workshop covers testing issues, not grading issues, although tips for effective grading may come up during discussion. If you're interested in grading, you may wish to attend "Designing a Grading Rubric" on Feb 9.
