Join the Department of Philosophy for a distinguished lecture by Richard Schacht, a professor emeritus of philosophy at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, titled "Philosophy as Interpretation" in celebration of his 50 years of Nietzsche studies and their culmination in his two new books, Nietzsche's Kind of Philosophy: Finding His Way and Nietzsche Pursued: Toward a Philosophy for the Future.

About Richard Schacht: 

Professor of Philosophy at UIUC since 1967; Emeritus Professor since 2007; Professor in the Unit for Criticism and Interpretive Theory, 1981-2007; Jubilee Professor of Liberal Arts and Sciences, UIUC, 1990–2007; Chair, Department of Philosophy, UIUC, 1979–1991; 2001-2007

Research interests: Human Reality; Philosophy in the Interpretive Tradition since Kant.
